” Pretend that you are living your live for the second time,
so imagine the situation where you are going first”(Victor Frankl)
Sometimes you need some inspiration. Frankl in his books gives inspiration.Â
There are moments that you feel you are locked down in a universe that is narrowing you down. That closes down all the possibilities you know you do have. You just have a hunch that there is more… Or, as in the case of Frankl, you find yourself in an insane reality tunnel and are looking for a way out.
In our every day life we encounter situations that are complex and against all odds. You and me are raised with certain believes and patterns, we might call them values.
Simple mum and dad values; love your kids; serve, contribute and share; freedom and valuing the differences.
Reality as such offers situations where you find yourself completely out of control. Insane sometimes. There is perhaps no small or big in this respect. Every human being has his /her own threshold.Â
Suggestions enough. Now a few from FranklÂ
So you start using your imagination
Visualize a dream
Occupy your mind and senses full blown
The notion of Logotherapy was created with the Greek word logos (“meaning”). Frankl’s concept is based on the premise that the primary motivational force of an individual is to find a meaning in life. The following list of tenets represents basic principles of logotherapy:
- Life has meaning under all circumstances, even the most miserable ones.
- Our main motivation for living is our will to find meaning in life.
- We have freedom to find meaning in what we do, and what we experience, or at least in the stand we take when faced with a situation of unchangeable suffering
